Good questions, straight answers

Booking, payment and what the warranty actually covers

How much lead time does booking a routine job actually need?

Two or three days out generally lands you a preferred time, but if something genuinely can't sit and wait, we make room for it today regardless of how full the diary looks.

A repair starts playing up again months down the track. What's the next step?

Pick up the phone the same way you would for a brand-new job, and because the Lifetime Labour Warranty sits behind our own workmanship, putting a genuine fault right never means a second invoice.

How does payment actually work, before the job or after?

We take card, cash and payment plans, and because the figure is agreed in writing before a tool touches anything, handing over payment afterward simply settles a price you already know.

I rent rather than own the place. Can work still go ahead?

It can, so long as whoever holds responsibility for the property, landlord or agent, gives the nod for anything past a simple like-for-like fix, and dealing with a property manager on the quote suits us just fine.

Is the parts we install covered by that same lifetime promise, or purely the labour?

Strictly the workmanship. Our lifetime guarantee never touches the hardware itself, so anything traced back to how the job was carried out is our responsibility, while the product fitted answers to whatever the manufacturer promises separately.

Once the work is underway

Once a job's underway, the plumber spots an unrelated second problem. What happens?

Everything pauses the moment it's found, you get a plain explanation of what's turned up, and it's quoted as its own separate job, so the original work keeps moving while the new fault waits on your say-so.

Could a jump in the water bill mean a leak I haven't actually seen?

Worth taking seriously, yes, a pipe hidden behind plaster or running under the concrete floor can drip away unnoticed for a long stretch with nothing showing anywhere, so proper testing beats waiting to see.

Does plumbing on an older property ever need council sign-off first?

Most day-to-day fixes and a straight fixture swap never touch council, since the plumbing code already governs them, though re-stumping the house or moving a drainage line entirely is a different, separate conversation, flagged upfront.

What's worth having sorted before the plumber actually knocks?

Being able to walk straight to the fault without shifting furniture or unlocking gates saves the most time, and knowing where the meter and stopcock sit helps too, though a plain description gets us there regardless.

Nobody's home through the day most of the week. Can outdoor work still happen?

In most cases, yes, an outdoor repair rarely needs anyone hovering nearby, just a way in, though we'll call first if it turns out the job needs access inside the house after all.

Questions with a genuinely Bronte angle

Does a house high up one side of Bronte Gully get treated any differently to one near Macpherson Street?

Not at all, every street from the gully floor to the ridge above gets the identical $0 visit and fixed written price, regardless of which side of the slope you're calling from.

Bronte Beach and the Baths draw big crowds every summer. Does that change how bookings run?

The booking process itself stays the same, though summer is genuinely our busiest stretch here, so getting a non-urgent job on the books a little earlier gets you first pick of the available times.

Does a Federation cottage near Bronte House ever need plumbing tied to its heritage character?

Occasionally, older fittings and pipe runs on a heritage-adjacent property sometimes call for extra care mid-renovation, though the booking and the pricing follow the same standard process regardless.

House on St Thomas Street sits on a block that drops away steeply out back. Does that change how a job's priced?

It does, laying new drainage down a genuine drop needs proper fall calculations rather than a rough estimate, so that extra groundwork gets built into the price before anything's agreed.

Still got a question?

Call (02) 9072 0511 and ask a licensed plumber outright, skip the contact form and the hold music. The call out is $0, you'll have a written price before anyone lifts a spanner, and every job carries our Lifetime Labour Warranty.
